I have been making diapers since my 19 year old daughter was a baby. After all these years of diaper making, I have perfected my design to stand up to the test of time. Frugal Fanny Flannels are cost effective, cute, soft, absorbant and easy to use. I have recently re-created my one-size-fits-most diaper pattern. I now offer a size 1 and size 2 option which will fit smaller and larger babies a bit more comfortably. The unique feature of FFF’s is the long flaps which fold over each other and are pinned with only one pin.

The liner is designed with micro-fleece or cotton velour on one side, 2 layers of flannel and one layer of sherpa. The fleece liner makes for fast and easy clean up. You only need to dunk the liner after a pooey mess, not the entire diaper. The fleece wicks away moisture and keeps your baby feeling drier.

You will need a cover with this diaper, but with the money you are saving by buying Frugal Fanny Flannels as opposed to more expensive diapers, buying a cover is no big deal.

My very favorite covers are a side snap PUL cover made by Janine at ZtoA Baby!I recommend her covers highly for quality at a frugal price. Janine is an awesome lady to work with. If you see a diaper of mine that you like and would like a matching cover, send her an e-mail. I’m sure she’d be happy to work with you.

I also highly recommend knitted wool covers (longies, shorties or soakers). Wool covers are definately more pricey than PUL, but wool is very breathable and the best choice if you have a child who gets rashes frequently. I am all about frugality and spending that kind of money on a cover doesn’t seem frugal until you check out the benefits. Everyone should have at least one wool cover!

Here’s a simple tutorial on how to use an FFF

Step 1
